The Opportunity
The Family Office Manager will join Corient’s Personal CFO Services team and play a central role in delivering high-quality family office accounting, reporting, and advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth clients and their related entities. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and their advisors, this individual will oversee financial operations, bill payment services, and client relationship management across multiple family office engagements. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a client service mindset, with experience managing complex financial affairs for sophisticated families and entities.

The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Client Accounting Services – Onboard new clients, establish financial reporting frameworks and charts of accounts, and manage vendor and household relationships. Deliver core accounting services including journal entries, payroll oversight, investment reporting, reconciliations, and data management for individuals, trusts, and related entities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and analyses for clients and family entities. Research and resolve discrepancies in client statements and financial data. Support cash flow monitoring, budgeting, and year-end reporting, including 1099 preparation and tracking of charitable giving, gifts, and asset basis.
- Client Bill Payment Services – Oversee client bill payment activities, including reviewing and approving transactions, reconciling accounts, investigating discrepancies, and generating payment reports. Ensure adherence to internal controls and accuracy in all disbursements.
- Client Relationship Management – Serve as the primary liaison for all day-to-day client communications, project coordination, and problem resolution across multiple client relationships. Lead and prepare materials for client meetings; collaborate with clients’ advisors (wealth managers, accountants, attorneys) to address estate, tax, and charitable planning needs. Execute special projects and ad hoc initiatives with discretion and professionalism.
- Team Leadership and Oversight – Provide daily management and direction to team members. Oversee workflow, review deliverables, and ensure timely, high-quality outputs. Train new employees on firm policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability, service, and collaboration.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline required.
- CPA certification and prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience managing financial operations for individuals, family offices, or similar entities, including investment reporting, payroll, and general ledger oversight.
- Sound understanding of foundations, trusts, estate planning, and related tax implications.
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, high-touch environment with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
